BrunchEveryone knows that brunch is a mixture of breakfast and lunch. It is an ideal formula for intense sightseeing days. After an early-morning coffee, a brunch a while later allows us to enjoy an active day with all the energy we have without having to stop for lunch.

Carmencita is one of the most famous places for brunch menus, especially for tourists, You cannot miss its eggs Benedict with bacon and eggs, that can be accompanied by a delicious mimosa, a drink made up of orange juice and cava. All of this for an affordable 15 euros, in any of its two restaurants on Calle San Vicente Ferrer, since they had to open a second one due to the high demand.

A breakfast rather than a brunch per se is what we find at MÜR Café, which serves the traditional English breakfast with bacon, eggs and baked beans as well as other ingredients, for no more than 13 euros. It is located on Plaza Cristino Martos, very close to the so-called “Plaza de los Cubos” and the Centro Cultural Conde Duque and the ABC Museum, which focuses on illustration. All of them are an excellent starting point for a cultural day in Madrid.

Also worth a visit are El Federal Café known as “Tommy”, in the cute little square of Plaza de Comendadoras, a spacious and bright place that serves vitamin juices that are ideal for thee autumn days. For free-range eggs with cheese or its heavy carrot cake, a complete breakfast can cost some 18 euros.

Specialising in brunch is the luxurious Ramsés, on Plaza de la Independencia (Puerta de Alcalá), designed by Philippe Starck in a Baroque and modern setting that will not leave anyone indifferent. Queen Letizia is just one of its distinguished clients, with brunches that cost up to 35 euros per person.

You can get to all of these places with a short walk from our hotel in the centre of Madrid, located very close to the Puerta del Sol. Do not resist the brunch, it is waiting for you. Now, all you have to do is choose.
