Chinchon is a village outside Madrid, it is well known for its bodegas, wine cellars, and the quality of its gastronomy.

From Quo Puerta del Sol, you can easily get to Chinchon getting bus the regional bus number 337 from Conde de Casal. To get to Conde Casal from Sol, just get line 1 (light blue) towards Pacifico and there change to the circular line 6 (grey) towards Conde de Casal.

One of the main sights in Chinchon has to be the central square, the Plaza Mayor, that is used for bullfighting as was typical of villages around Spain. The central square was normally closed off during the local festivities to stop the bulls getting out and the bullfighting would have place in this area. However, the Plaza Mayor in Chinchon is also famous because it featured in the old version of Around the World in 80 days with Mexican actor Cantinflas and the Brit David Niven.

Its church dates back to the 15th century and there is also a Medieval castle, which is unfortunately closed to the public due to its state.

Chinchon is also known for its festival, in March they celebrate wine and anís (anisette) and in October they have bullfighting in the central square.

From your hotel in Madrid, Quo Puerta del Sol, you will find easy to get to Chinchón.
